Kullu or Kulu located at an altitude of more than 4000 feet is a resplendent town in Himachal Pradesh. Kullu is also the capital of Kullu district and is also known as “Valley of Gods”, because of its picturesque landform and lush greenery. The majority of the place is covered with forest and rocky ridges and so the town has a very less population.
Adventure activities
Kullu is the largest valley of this district, while the Beas River intersects the valley from the middle. People come to this place to glimpse the magnificent nature, temples and explore the classy adventure activities.
Trekking through the uneven ridges and skiing over the snow-filled lands started only few decades back. Adventure lovers would love to visit the place once again to experience the thrilling trekking during June-September on the mountains. However, for skiing you need to come during December to June. Skiing courses are also offered here. Also, try out the heli-skiing at an elevation of 5500 meter.
White water rafting in Kullu (from Bahah ro Jhiri), angling and paragliding are some other options that you can try out in this arresting place.
Lodging and other facilities
The Bhuntar Airport is only 10km from Kullu, while the nearest railway station is at Jogindernagar (125km). Road can be the best option to reach the place through the winding roads from Delhi.
