Named after Bundela Rajput Leader ChhatraSal, Chhatarpur city is located in the Chhatarpur District of Madhya Pradesh. Until the 1785, the city under the rule of Chhatrasal’s descendants after which the ruler ship was taken over by the Rajputs. As a special act of grace, in 1854, the city was granted to Jagat Raj. Situated at an altitude of 305 metres on the north east border of MP, the city enjoys close proximity with Jhansi (UP) which is only 133km andGwalior (MP) only 233km away. Farming is the major occupation for the habitants of Chhatarpur, while some work for the granite mining industries of the city.
